Poli-Tea: One Year On

It has now been just over a year since I launched Poli-Tea. The archives here contain almost 550 posts – with hundreds of comments and thousands of links – dedicated to sustained critique of the two-party state, the duopoly system of government and the ideology that sustains them, as well as to the promotion of third party and independent alternatives to the deadlock represented by Democratic-Republican politics-as-usual. I'd like to think that Poli-Tea is a forum unlike most others on the political web. Judging from comments, backlinks and the followers widget, Poli-Tea's readership is certainly an eclectic bunch to say the least, including conservatives, moderates, liberals, progressives, Independents, Libertarians, Greens, Constitutionalists, and Whigs among others, not to mention the politically unclassifiable. Allow me to take this opportunity to thank longtime readers and relative new-comers, commenters and correspondents, friends and fellow bloggers in the third party and independent blogosphere, without whom this blog would be nothing more than exhibit A in the case for my commitment to the nearest mental health facility. Thank you. I would also like to thank the dead-enders of the duopoly parties, those Democrats and Republicans whose partisan hypocrisies, intellectual dishonesty and political immaturity stand as a stark reminder of everything that is wrong in American politics and government, and whose discourses continue to provide us with a virtually limitless source of material for the evaluation of the reactionary ideology that undergirds the two-party state and the duopoly system of government.

Suggestions, comments and criticism heading into year two are more than welcome.

Congrats on the anniversary! You do a great job, and I think it is a forum unlike any other on the web. Just keep doing what you're doing - that's all my advice.

And maybe crosspost to other websites some more ;)

Congrats! No lie -- reading your blog is always on my to do list whenever I am curious about getting a sane viewpoint on some political issue that concerns independents, third parties, and how to go beyond duopoly politics. I've gotten many great insights from your blog. Keep up the great work and happy one-year anniversary for Poli-Tea!

Best wishes for another year, d. Your blog goes well with any political beverage: tea, kool-aid, coffee... It's essential reading for anyone struggling with Bipolarchy disorder. I recommend it whenever I can.

Damon -- Congrats! Poli-Tea is a breath of fresh air in the third party and independent blogosphere! As an independent, I particularly respect your nonpartisan and inclusionary perspective on third party politics.

Keep up the great work!

Thanks again. And, if you all aren't familiar with one another's respective sites, I highly recommend checking them out. Really good stuff.
